Two Pocock alumni named to U.S. Pan American Games Team


July 9, 2007 - Reilly Dampeer and Warren Anderson, both alumni of the Pocock Sculling Team, were recently named to the 2007 Pan American Games Team.

Dampeer, from Weston, Conn., will compete in the Women's Single and the Women's Quad. Her teammates in the quad will be Julie Nichols, Sarah Trowbridge and Margaret Matia.

Anderson, from Paso Robles, Calif., will compete in the Men's Quad, rowing with Jamie Schroeder, Francis Cuddy and Deaglan McEachern.

The rowing competition will be held July 14-19 at the Lagoa Rowing Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Heats and repechages, or second-chance races, will be held July 14-16, with finals being held July 17-19. The U.S. will be competing in all 13 events.

The 27-person squad includes 16 senior national team veterans. Four rowers have Olympic experience including Dan Beery, who won a gold medal in the men’s eight in 2004.
